CPMD's Facilities

The facilities and equipment presented are at CPMD's offices in Norwood, Johannesburg. The environment is conducive to learning activities, as the premises includes 3 fully functional lecture rooms with dedicated screens and data projectors. There are also 3 break away rooms for multi-functional use.

CLASSROOMS

Lecture rooms are suited to the learning process, as they are designed for higher education training. Desks are set out in a lecture room format and a variety of lecture rooms/halls are available which are conducive to training small, medium or larger groups.

LEARNING MATERIAL

CPMD provides customised notes, manuals or files for most of its programmes; that is for both corporate and public courses. Most programmes are designed around a PowerPoint presentation, which highlights the content of the manual or books provided for that particular programme. Some programmes require the use of calculators and/or textbooks, which CPMD makes accessible to learners.

CPMD provides its facilitators with the relevant presentation, which is written and produced by a subject matter expert. Material is updated regularly to ensure relevancy. New legislation is followed and included in course material.

EQUIPMENT

SPECIAL NEEDS

The following equipment is available and used to enhance the learning process:

  • Whiteboards
  • Flipcharts
  • TV/Videos
  • Laptops
  • Data Projectors
  • Overhead Projectors
(Other equipment may be made available on request.)

  • Material is often adapted or designed specifically for the clients' and/or learners' needs.
  • Special language requirements or learners with poor literacy levels can (in some instances) be accommodated by prior arrangement.
  • Physically challenged learners can be accommodated, provided the college is notified prior to the programme being conducted.
  • For programmes that offer lunch, special dietary requirements can be accommodated if prior arrangements are made.

BEVERAGES/CANTEEN

Tea, coffee and biscuits are usually served on arrival and during the mid-morning tea break, for most courses. Meals are only served if indicated in the course outline.

A canteen serving snacks and hot food is available to all learners onsite, usually for the full duration of the courses. The canteen supplies the meals for programmes that include lunch. Learners must notify the college in advance of any special dietary requirements.

Corporate clients have the choice of utilising these facilities, or conducting training programmes using their own facilities.

When training is conducted at clients' offices or out of town, CPMD endeavours to select the most appropriate venue for the type of programme.
